Gilbert Zamora – Musician | Accordionist | Artist

Gilbert Zamora is a seasoned musician with over two decades of experience in the Tejano industry. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, he discovered his passion for music during his years at McCollum High School, graduating in 1997. Although he was not initially drawn to Spanish music, Gilbert’s path shifted when he was inspired by legendary Tejano artists such as David Lee Garza, Jaime DeAnda, Albert Zamora, Jay Perez, Ramiro Herrera, and Emilio Navaira.

His journey with the accordion began under the influence of Jason Martinez, who performed alongside Gilbert’s twin brother, Vidal “Sunny” Zamora III. With guidance from respected instructor Bene Medina at Alamo Music in downtown San Antonio, Gilbert developed his skills and soon joined his brother in the band Mario Flores Y Puro Estilo, managed by their father, Vidal Zamora Jr.

Since then, Gilbert has toured extensively with renowned Tejano artists, and he currently serves as Accordionist and Music Director for Bobby Pulido on both Bobby and Roberto Pulido’s final Por La Puerta Grande Tour. His career has also included collaborations and performances with Elida Reyna, Dee Burleson, Eddie Gonzalez, David Marez, Roel Martinez, Adrian Y Destino, and Missy Garcia Y Expresion. Along the way, he has also shared the stage in pop-up performances with Jay Perez, Roberto Pulido, Emanuel J, Oscar G, Tormenta, Joey Martinez, Grupo Retama, La Fuerza, Deya, Gabriella Martinez, and Karla Christina.

A career milestone came in 2022 when Gilbert recorded on Bobby Pulido’s Latin Grammy-winning album Para Que Baile Mi Pueblo. His live performances are equally notable, including playing at the CHCI 46th Annual Awards Gala in Washington, D.C., in 2023 before the President of the United States and distinguished delegates, as well as performing before more than 100,000 fans at the Bésame Mucho Festival in Austin, Texas, in 2024.

In 2024, Gilbert launched his solo career with the release of his debut album Winging It, followed by his sophomore album Encinalenos in 2025. The latter was produced in collaboration with Eddie Perez, alongside acclaimed songwriters and musicians, further establishing Gilbert’s creative voice.

Gilbert is a proud member of the Latin Recording Academy (Class of 2024) and The Recording Academy (Class of 2025). Inducted into the class of 2025 Tejano Roots Hall of Fame.  With a wealth of experience, a deep passion for music, and a reputation for both artistry and professionalism, he continues to make his mark on the Latin and Tejano music scene, captivating audiences nationwide with his sound.

Now residing in Encinal, Texas, with his wife and daughter, Gilbert Zamora remains committed to sharing his music and inspiring the next generation of Tejano artists.
